Simply Thank You

Gratitude reboots the machine.   Simple is a mark of Genius.   The simple truth is that we are made free to choose until our emotions take over and force our choices.   Freedom to choose is how we are made.   Yet emotions determine our thoughts.   So familiarity with our emotions offers us the chance to step back and think again before we act on a thought or a feeling.   For this gift of freedom to choose, “Thank You” is the only logical response. Gratitude reboots the machine and starts our thinking all over again.   Intelligent Design.

Tricked and Trapped, no longer free to choose, self justification argues itself entitled to its own emotions. No thank you! No freedom, no peace.

    Stop….shut down….silence…..refresh…..choose

Thoughts determine our emotions (vise versa).
    Watch , recognize, repetitious repetition,
an objective observer, a still moment.
A chance to respond differently, instead of reacting.
    Freedom to breath “THANK YOU”,
    Start over……”The Magnificent Woman”

I am sitting in the car waiting, my thoughts are scattered. Till they land on something intense enough emotionally to weigh it all down, a memory. I’m not in control anymore, flying on automatic pilot. I can see the bottom rushing up, I panic, I scream. Breath, breath I tell myself, stop..STOP! I’ve been here before, I know what to do, I don’t have to crash, pull up!!!… “THANK YOU”. The traffic light turns green and I put the car in gear and go…
    START OVER

    “Gratitude reboots the machine”
    Gratitude; as in “Thank You”
    Reboots; stop and start over”
The machine; our brains thought processes

In the gratitude of “thank you” there are many emotional levels, starting with the “thank you” you give to the store clerk when he gives you your change, to the gratitude of “Thank You” when you have been given the gift of life, and the many levels in between. But the hardest to understand, yet the deepest level of “thank you” comes when we are suffering. That particular “thank you” conflicts with all our familiar ideals and beliefs so passionately that a “tug of war” is created. The “tug of war between being a victim of our past and the attachment to the justification of our pain, to “thank you”, I see it, “I’ve been here before” and desiring freedom so powerfully you make a different choice, sometimes requiring a leap of faith into unknown territory. I start by saying “thank you” because I choose to believe in peace, and the creation of a new vision.
“Thank you” at first can feel like your lying to yourself. But it’s not the pain we’re thankful for, but the gift it gives of recognition and opportunity.
Gratitude becomes an experience of spirit.

What a marvelous glimpse into emotional anatomy you have shared with us. Imagine a full rainbow of gratitude as though this sector of our emotional anatomy was guiding us purposefully into a vision filled with more gratitude. Intelligent Design.
