Flying Lessons

I have imagined ‘flying lessons’ as a useful imagery to assist in developing a confident set of tools for thinking and living. Flying because imagination is fluid and open, a must for recognizing Emotional Anatomy. The imagery operates in our minds eye as though a movie projector in many dimensions. Flying through this imaginative movie machine can only be accomplished successfully when skills of navigation are developed. We will all do well to pitch in to this open source language of human character traits that make finding our way through this imaginative jungle possible. The Story of Freedom.

OK, flying lessons, I can imagine that.
Requirements; an open and fluid imagination.

The image that comes to my “minds eye” is flying thru water when I do laps at the pool.

The feeling is quite peaceful, light bouncing off the bottom, the water cool on my skin, the breath in rhythm to my strokes, and the tension in my body being abandoned as muscles are invigorated. Even now as I imagine this image I feel my body responding, something like the way a person who has been at sea all day can still feel the movement of the ocean when on dry land. I guess because it is a more recent memory.

Imagination does not always require a memory. In a negative way, and sometimes without realizing it, much of my imagination has been focused on the fear and paranoia of the “what ifs”. “What if he gets sick while traveling with his soccer team,” “What if he doesn’t love me,” “What if I don’t finish a project on time” “what if I’m jobless,” “what if, what if.” There is a whole mind, body and soul response to these thoughts that can freeze up the gears, making it hard to return.

I admit, it will take practice, “flying lessons” if you will, to turn my imagination in a different direction than it has been programed. Instead of walking past my flower garden and my mind imagining what a mess if I don’t attend to it, today I will imagine my garden a work in progress, with a beautiful red rose blooming from the center of which I have yet to plant, yet my “minds eye” can see it there…inspiring.

The art of imagination can be just that, ART. It is creative, inherent. I know that my imagination is influenced and conditioned by my thought processes, and understanding takes some navigational skills of which first I will try flying lessons .

You paint an excellent picture worth many thousands of words. And your words are contributing to the many dimensions of mood movies that make the understanding of navigation challenging and enjoyable.

As our minds swim within the refreshingly clear effervescent free flowing river, Rhythms of Gratitude return us to this “quite peaceful” stream of thought, a real place we can share within our Emotional Anatomy.

“Freedom to Choose” is “Intelligent Design”. It is the most rewarding state of mind available to human kind. A lighthouse, a north star, a guidance system built into this marvelous flesh of ours.

Thank You for your comment. Your personal significance is displayed for all to see. I hope you get to experience the natural rewards designed into your Emotional Anatomy that encourage you deep within your being. You make a difference. This open source language comes from real life experience. Others will benefit from your efforts.

Of course the chorus of voices inside our minds eye will attempt mood movies in opposition. You have labeled a very common distraction. “What if”… and should this uneasy mood movie accelerate into “uh oh, oh no!!” Angst… Well, these are Emotional Reflexes ‘that can freeze up the gears, making it hard to return.’ I have learned to call this “The Old Movie”.

Rhythms of Gratitude make habits out of returning to the ‘quite peaceful’ stream, offering freedom to choose “familiarity” with our ‘programed’ emotional anatomy. Slowly pieces fit together and the Story of Freedom discovers “The New Movie”. Very naturally we will choose freedom over slavery.

The Magnificent Woman. How far off and impossible, yet I hope you catch a glimpse of her. An intelligently designed guidance system.

It is our vision of Freedom for future generations that mobilizes our passions to give of ourselves in love completely. Intelligent Design. You are personally significant to these future generations as you have sought after “The New Movie”. Thank you again for continuing your comments.

  5. I really love what Dina introduces here.
The idea of existing in a place that maintains that peaceful invigorated feeling; a place that perpetuates and ignites a forward trajectory.
Personally, that memory, of a particular place or personal clarity, becomes a reminder, and exists as a common denominator, if you will, that remains steadfast when all else falls away.
Thus, when I lose all other sense of balance and collection, I am able to return to this starting point that renews my sense of perspective.

Thank You for commenting. As a scientist, I am claiming Emotional Anatomy works according to Intelligently Designed principles. You have confirmed “that peaceful invigorated feeling” where “I feel my body responding”, a place of peace designed to allow freedom to choose. And from this place of clarity we share a fresh starting point in our thinking where ‘my “minds eye” can see it …inspiring.’ Excited, the mood movie changes, offering freedom to choose.

Please don’t take anything I assume, to mean that I have it all figured out. Success and defeat are but a moment of time in the cycle of a life, and then new cycles begin..
    START OVER

Having said that, I’d like to play with a little word imagery, an “open source language” if you will. Take the word “magnificent woman”. I get the first part, “Mag” as in MAGNUM. Humor me here please. The image I get is; life is like a loaded gun firing a powerful trajectory right out of the barrel straight in the direction it’s pointed.

I imagine my early years as a woman learning it’s parts, mechanisms, and dangers. The power of a life placed in my hands. There were times of mishandling, and indiscretion in direction and focus. A sense of danger, yet not knowing from where, a defensive posture. I associated with, made contact with, played out scenarios in my head, I practiced aiming, many times misfiring, some lethal, the murder of innocence occurring. However I think now it was designed that way to acquire knowledge in the power of intention and aim. The intention of contribution to humanity and the aim of one woman to get there.

Over time I learned from experience the force and consequences of aim and direction. I had times when I did not act as an impulsive child firing at loud noises in the dark. For me it started with the recognition of certain repeating emotions ending in the same circumstances and eliminating choices. I am familiar with the after effects of regret and guilt. I am familiar with temptation and the differences between reaction and response.

At this point my first choice then would be to hesitate in reacting, and to breath, reevaluate the situation. This in itself can be painful, as the time out for choices bring with it doubt, and or self condemnation. But with practiced participation my sniper abilities focus with some clarity, enhancing my aim at well chosen targets, instead of random shots.

Oh well, today I feel optimistic, tomorrow will have it’s own challenges, but I believe, in womenkind, and humanity. I believe we were created for any and all possibilities in contributing to a better world, one shot at a time if necessary. Thank you for indulging me….”The Mag Woman”

Imagine our open source language to have potential significance to the future of freedom in the world. Intelligently designed, human Emotional Anatomy makes awareness of this personal significance rewarding in a uniquely optimistic way. The Story of Freedom. Intelligently designed, human Emotional Anatomy wants more of this kind of reward. When we encourage each other, we are consciously feeding this need inside another, important and valuable to the future of the world., “a real place we can share within our Emotional Anatomy.” Freely choosing, the “mag woman” took a darn good shot at contributing her best, opening the door to many more overlapping descriptions of how our mind is working. Keep it up.

More to come. please be patient with me.

Sometimes the “Mag Woman” misfires. “Thus, when I lose all other sense of balance and collection, I am able to return to this starting point that renews my sense of perspective.” Unique to each of us, The New Movie takes shape as a gift of imagination, glimpsing The Magnificent Woman, inspired and humbled, taking our best shot, punctuated with gratitude, freedom or slavery? It becomes easier to see how we get distracted by our Emotional Reflexes. Most rewarding, “Rhythms of Gratitude” demonstrate Intelligent Design.

Intelligently Designed? Take a look at the daily news and be reminded of how many humans misfire frequently. Intelligently designed, “simply thank you” starts our thinking all over again. Personally significant, we remind each other, to “believe we were created for any and all possibilities in contributing to a better world, one shot at a time.” Dominion. Intelligently Designed, we discover how frequently we miss our shots.

Translated from the Greek, our English word “Sin” is an archery term meaning “to miss the mark.” Intelligent Design realizes we and the “mag woman” miss our targets all the time. Potentially, we can be consumed by the emotional reflexes triggered out of our control in response to even our best efforts. Rhythms of Gratitude allow us to recognize the genius design behind forgiving our missed shots and the gift of freedom that allows us an endless supply of arrows, for which “Thank You” is the only logical response.

God is creating us by inspiring our free choice. Here again is the tug of war. Intelligently designed emotional anatomy, Temptation does not disappear. Free to choose, God is creating sincere hearts which will endlessly choose to make our best efforts. Your best brings out the best in others. The New Movie. The Story of Freedom, our intention and direction becomes “the aim of one woman to get there.” The Magnificent Woman forgiven.

Forgiven offers a quiver full of Arrows. Take your best shot. Gratitude reboots the machine and starts our thinking all over again. Intelligent Design.
